Here are some ideas on how you can help your child get the most out of the club

Keep the club's code of conduct for parents and spectators Please attend games whenever possible Be vocal but please keep it positive, look for things to praise Focus on effort and improvement, not on results Try to get your child to training and matches in good time If your child can't train or get to a match please let their manager know

Remind your child to bring the basic equipment they need

 Warm clothing Shin guards and boots/trainers Water bottle Training or match fee

Running a club with so many junior members and teams takes a lot of work. We are fortunate to have an excellent team of volunteers who perform a variety of tasks, some directly football related: others "behind the scenes". At present we have a need for additional staff to help share the load.

If you would like to get involved don't be concerned about being roped in to doing more than you are able. While some of our volunteers have a number of roles in the club, others are responsible for just one specific task. We will be grateful for whatever you are willing do. Registration Assistants

We need a number of volunteers to help with registration at training sessions. This is an ideal opportunity for parents to get involved if they are already bringing their child to training. We need at least three, and preferably six, volunteers to cover the main training sections of the club including the girl's section.

Duties - To be available 10 to 15 minutes before a session until 10 minutes after it has started to maintain a register of which players are in attendance and to collect their session fee. You will also need to take contact information from new members and inform them how to complete their registration. A register will be supplied by the secretary and players will be instructed to go to the registration point on arrival.

Coaching Staff

With the club membership growing each season there is an ongoing need to recruit and train new staff to join our team of qualified coaches. Training will be paid for by the club and new coaches will be supported while they gain further experience. We have an immediate need for new staff in the girl's section and will need a number of new coaches and team managers in the boys section for next season.

Duties - To deliver well prepared training sessions. Session plans are prepared in advance by the head coach and follow a progressive programme for each age group. Most coaches also work as team managers or assistant team managers.

Requirements - New potential coaches will be required to follow the Volunteer recruitment procedure as detailed in the "Club Welfare" zone of the web site. This includes signing up to club welfare policies and application for a CRB certificate. Coaches will be required to complete the FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football which will be paid for by the club.

 

Assistant Team Managers

Some parents find themselves becoming increasingly involved in helping their child's team manager on match days. We are very grateful for this help and would like to recognise their work by appointing assistant team managers. Assistants will be issued with a club jacket identifying them to players and opponents as an official member of club staff.

Duties - Assistant managers will help the team manager in a variety of ways, duties may include...

Helping to set up the pitch on match day

Collecting match fees

Leading the warm-up

Supervising substitutes

Refereeing part of the game

Helping to set a good example to players and spectators

First aid on the pitch if properly qualified

Their specific duties will likely vary in each case and will be agreed with the manager.

Requirements - Assistant managers will be required to follow the recruitment policy as explained in the "Club Welfare" zone of this site. This will include being asked to sign up to club welfare policies, apply for a CRB certificate (paid for by the club) and complete the short online "Soccer Parent" course. Unlike team managers and coaches, assistants will be not be required to undertake a coaching certificate, unless they wish to do so.
